At TangoTrade, we’re fundamentally changing a $3 trillion industry currently dominated by large, slow moving incumbents. We’re focused on empowering the over 400,000 underserved small and medium sized businesses in the US that account for 90% of all importing and exporting companies. And we believe that leveraging the potential of blockchain technology and smart contracts is best way to achieve that goal.
You’ll be joining a team of proven entrepreneurs who don’t adhere to the latest buzz but instead put our faith in the power of team players, of transparency, of grit. None of this is easy, but we’re excited by the adventure. At TangoTrade, you’ll work with a group of smart, passionate people who genuinely enjoy working together to make an impact. We’re funded by Village Global, a venture firm backed by some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, including Reid Hoffman, Jeff Bezos, and Eric Schmidt.
Join us for the opportunity to apply leading edge technology to help solve a critical challenge facing global trade.
We are seeking a full stack engineer who loves learning, is passionate about collaborating, and wants to see the powerful impact of applying cutting edge blockchain technology to solve real world problems.
The platform is currently in design stage, and we want you to help us make it a reality. We are looking for a team player who has experience in a fast moving, agile development environment. Ideally, you’ve been at a start-up, but if you haven’t we expect you to have experience building industry-leading products at a larger software company that is known for quality and innovation.
3+ years of full stack software development experience ideally executing with Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies within Payments or Fintech.
Enjoy being a generalist working across the entire stack: frontend, backend, and anything it takes to solve problems and delight users.
Be versatile in software languages (especially Python, Java, and / or Go and ideally smart contract platforms like Ethereum / Solidity). If you’re not already experienced with distributed ledger technology, you must be ready and eager to dive in with both feet. We care more about your general engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework.
Take pride in working on projects to successful completion and thrive in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Impeccable integrity and ethical standards, direct and candid with the understanding that long-term relationships will be the key to the company achieving its maximum level of success.
Preference for prior start-up experience with a bias for action and comfort with ambiguity.
Passion for shaking things up and applying technical knowledge to a new product competing against legacy services from well-established incumbents (banks providing letter of credit in our case).
BA/BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
